To all the donors, volunteers, staff, board members and, of course, Santa and elves, thank you!
Because of your generosity we lit up our neighborhood with smiles, songs, snacks and toys this past weekend at our annual Toy Drive. Children and adults alike celebrated the arrival of the man in the red suit, a bright and jolly appearance during this otherwise trying year.
Santa delivered more than 650 toys - including baby walkers, ride-on Batmobiles, dolls, remote control cars, action figures, helicopters and drones, make-up kits, headphones and more - to children of all ages outside our soup kitchen and to toy drives at the West Side Recreation Center and other locations throughout Newark.
A special thank you to the folks at St. Mary's in Watchung for their donations and to Kara Gagliano and students from Mount Arlington School who made cookies and cards for our kids.
